Alienware tweeted a setup they call a “dream setup,” and gamers are going absolutely crazy over the black and purple variants. The tweet carried a barebones caption reading merely: “New dream setup just dropped 🚀” with a link to an image, and that lonely caption was all that was needed for a multitude of player reactions: some wanting it, some unable to fund it, and others just appreciative of the design.
First off with that color mix. Fullcaber did put it well: “black an purple are my fav combo i wish i had the cash for something like this D:” – and honestly? Same. It carries Alienware’s nost-eye futuristic design with sharp angles and the classic alien head logo all thrown in this moody purple hue of light. Bobbyk831 also offered his perspective, “IMO the design has been off the boil last few years, great to see such a beautiful setup!” which might very well mean Alienware is on the brink of regaining some of his allegiance through this design.
On the performance matter, TheDeXZoR junior’d, “Looks great whode it not be lovly to play games agen in more then 30 fps 😅😆” – words every PC gamer has said in frustration at some point. The specs weren’t laid out, but judging from the Alienware tag, we’d probably be looking at something that laughs at even 30 fps.
The wallpaper was a whole other thing, with RBraxton59781 demanding, “Wallpaper sick Link?” Because, lets be honest-the minute you see a dope setup, you gotta have that background too. _CAMU1979 was doing the double take, “I thought y’all dropped a 69″ 360Hz Curved Screen for a sec 😳” which… just means now we wanna know if it really exists.
Other comments were laced with a little bit of envy. “Can I have it, please?” from 17scorpi, while daslolAK responded with, “This setup would look good in my room. 👌🏽” – Yeah, can’t argue with you. Diogomrsimoes19 kept it simple with just: “What a dream setup. What a freaking dream.”
BlaineThePainTV probably had the funniest comment: “What did I tell you about entering my dreams!? 👀😁😂” To which Alienware replied: “Crazy that we’ve all been having the same dreams…” Talk about Wicked socials.
Still, some weren’t convinced. Naarghul gave her critique: “I’d prefer a bigger keyboard with a number pad, to be honest.” Fair enough – where else do these people do their spreadsheets? Emilioelcomelon followed with, “If you don’t post a release date for your 280 hz qd OLED monitor I’m literally gonna buy one from Samsung.” Now that’s some serious devotion to your monitors.
Though, seemingly hitting all the right spots for the vast majority of gamers. Alan Deeney puts a simple, “Totally love it, great job.” That pretty much wraps it up, while MrHercules007 came in with a full-on motivational hashtag response: “#oneday #streamer #twitchstreamer #youtuber #goals #pushing #NeverGiveUp” – because hardware dreams definitely come first before actual streaming.
What made it all so juicy is the supposed community involvement given in this Alienware program. When Naarghul again asked about a numpad, Alienware replied with, “We got you 😉” and a link – now this is how social media should be used.
At the end of the day, this is the kind of setup that makes every PC gamer go weak in the knees. Sleek design, top-notch lighting, and killer performance, if rumors hold true. Whether you can afford it or would rather stalk it in wonder, Alienware’s got the talk all around. The million-dollar question: When’s the 280Hz OLED monitor hitting the streets?
