Overwatch Season 17 Powered Up came out on Switch, and just with the content, everybody is buzzing some asking if it is ever coming to Switch 2. New maps have dropped, Duo Mythic skins, and a brand new Flashpoint map, Aatlis. Beyond this, map voting has finally gone in for Quick Play and Competitive mode. Half of the comments are people shrieking for a Switch 2 patch.
Meanwhile, the new stuff. Stadium Heroes are Golden for the theme of this season, and the skins? They are fire. Dual Mythic skins-a way to flex twice as hard! New Flashpoint map, Aatlis, looks to be good clean chaos. Map voting? Absolute game-changer. No more boring old maps in the rotation.
The outright hot mess? The Switch 2. Players in the comments were going to flip their lids at the demand for an enhanced version. One player tweeted, “Not even tempted to play this on my Switch 2 until there’s an update/patch to bump the resolution and frame rate.” Meanwhile, another participant was like, “SWITCH 2 VERSION WHENNNNNN.” We know how it goes: the Switch 1 version ain’t perfect, but hey, let’s enjoy the new content first.
Some deemed it. Some reports for the Switch 2 version. “Playing on Switch 2 is bugged and unplayable rn,” was one user’s statement. Others, at the same time, are just glad to have Overwatch on the go; “crazyyyy, will try out,” seconded another player-proving not everyone cares about hardware specs.
Concerning aesthetics, the fan did a really cute little artwork of Cherry Blossom Mercy and begged Blizzard to add it to the game. Honestly? We back that. More cherry blossoms; please, fewer frame rate complaints.
That said, some couldn’t really care less. “Prepare for a nothing burger that can be played on literally any other existing gaming console and PC,” one commenter said in a salty tone. For all Switch players, this update offers much to love, even if it’s not 4K 120fps.
Oh, yes. Here comes Overwatch Season 17, loaded with stuff, just in time for the ongoing debate about Switch 2. Will Blizzard finally grant an upgrade? No idea. For now, grab your Joy-Cons and dive in-gently maybe, don’t expect butter smooth performance.
Still mad? Well, at least you can now start voting for better maps. Small wins, people. Small wins.
