Entering the ring for a battle now: NBA star Tyrese Haliburton– digitally, of course! The Indiana Pacers point guard is in the Dunk & Destruction Pack for WWE 2K25, and fans have gone wild for it. The crossover was announced by WWE Games’ official Twitter account, with a video of Haliburton shifting from basketballs to body slams-the responses were pure pandemonium.
50 Cent’s “Many Men” is the entrance theme for Haliburton in the pack and players are planning on ripping it off for their own custom wrestlers. @xGRVSx tweeted, “WOOOOW. Stealing this entrance theme for my CAW.” And honestly, that is how I feel. That track is iconic. It really is a no-brainer to slap this on a created superstar.
Not so much. Not all that hyped about NBA stars being shoehorned into a wrestling game. @diegocayon99 had the audible opinion: “NOBODY CARES NBA STARS ON A WWE GAME, FOR THAT WE HAVE NBA 2K.” Fair point, but also… let people enjoy things? The crossover is legit, and Haliburton does have charisma up the wazoo. Plus, he rocks his normal SmackDown clothes in the trailer, and @Foxlastor snapped back, “Since Halliburton is literally just wearing the normal ass clothes he wore on a random episode of Smackdown, he’s absolutely going to be a jobber.” One can almost pay respect to this shade.
Now here comes the DLC…: @ThePhantomDrake was side-eyed WWE 2K for “showing off people no one asked for” while some players are still waiting to be addressed on missing content from the first DLC pack. @_DreeeTheGreat followed up with an absolute horror story: “I lost all my data randomly for myrise/universe/showcase/CAWS/Arenas EVERYTHING. Feels like I’m starting from scratch.” Miserable. That’s something no gamer `would ever want to live through.
However, the hype isn’t dead yet. @Burner8371 pointed out how wild it was to hear, “the stone cold glass break into many men,” and honestly, that really does sound more hardcore than it ever should have. Then again, @CeeJay93597019 admits that they are just here for “the great khali, Abyss, and the 50 cent song.” Priorities, right?
Where does this leave us, then? Dunk & Destruction Pack is brings some controversy and discussion among players. Be it on behalf of Haliburton, the music, or just to rant at the non-wrestlers populating the WWE games, one thing is certain: WWE 2K25 has mastered stirring the pot. Now, if only they actually fixed those save files…
