Xbox’s announcement of the pre-orders for Borderlands 4 went on to become a laugh riot, with reactions having all the variety of a loot drop in Pandora. The tweet from Xbox teased the fans, quite cheekily calling it “pre-orderlands” and linking to the pre-order page, only to be met with numerous opinions. Some were backing the idea with slight doubts, while others were roasting it completely.
Immediately comes price. Some were joking, saying, “At least it’s not $80 (looking at you, other AAA titles),” whereas some other voices frowned. @RainVideojuegos said, “I don’t have 80€ for this,” and @Cupcakeofwar fired back, “Yeah nah mate. I’ll spend £80 on a couple of decent games.” Ouch. @xLudox77 joined in: “Titan $130 for the Super Deluxe edition. Yikes.”
The whole preordering thing. Could have been learnt by the players after the mess which was Cyberpunk 2077. Not really, though. @TBarey24470 threw it all back, “Who’s still pre-ordering games in 2025? Cyberpunk taught y’all nothing, huh?” On the other hand, @chyld989 gave none: “Borderlands 3 and Wonderlands were massive disappointments so not a chance I’m pre-ordering this one.” Fair enough.
Now, some guys will not buy into that whole skepticism. @Soulbound_TV joked, “I pre-ordered so fast I think I clipped into a cutscene,” while @ArtiFi0 was just here to express their pure excitement: “So looking forward to Borderlands 4!” And then there’s @jordanwood2000, still struggling to get through Pre-Sequel: “guess I have to begin somewhere 😂.”
Well, the Game Pass question must be asked. @LaughingToken teased Xbox with, “Is it on GamePass?” Soon followed by @stu_ashton3: “I’ll just wait for it to hit GamePass.” Sounds like a good strategy, right, but sad for Gearbox.
Some are quite done with the franchise. @pixelluma mocked the announcement: “Preorderlands? I guess that’s what happens when you run out of ideas after Borderlands 3!” Meanwhile, @ButtonMasher90 said that it was “the most corporate sht I ever read.” Harsh but fair.
And then there were the wildcards. @HydeTheCrazyOne claimed their cat was on the way to pre-ordering (??), and @MikeHTX94 pretty much said, “Bring back HALO.” Priorities, man.
So what was the decision, all scrambling? Borderlands 4 is coming, and some gamers are already throwing money at it while others are side-eyeing the whole thing like a sketchy vending machine. Will it fulfill the hype? Who knows. But one thing is sure, gamers are not in the business of biting their tongue; this time around, they’re not holding back.
Meanwhile, if you still got guts for lining the pre-order, the link is out there. Just wait for the reviews, maybe. Or not. Go with the flow.
