In the wake of a listing for one Blackcell Battle Pass on Twitter, players in the Call of Duty community began going wild. The official BO6CODInformer account had a tweet peeping into the gamers for one perspective or another as to which they were using. So, it looks like they were asking for a free Season 4 Blackcell Battle Pass. At this rate, the responses were some really insane.

Within just a few minutes, the replies section just blew up with players from all platforms keen to plead their case for the Battle Pass. PS fanboys came out in full force, with many a user pleading for their share of PS5 codes. The Xbox candidates, of course, were not shy, either, as their Series X owners cried loud and proud. PC gamers made their voices heard as well, wishing that Steam and Game Pass would goodie them up with a little free stuff.

One reply by slide00000 was along the lines of, “Pc 😇 could, really do with this. The love for the game is fading. Maybe this might brighten it up a bit.” Oof-that stung the heart. How weird is it that a simple Battle Pass can reignite the passion for a game for someone who has been playing it for months?

Being one of the premium Battle Passes of Call of Duty, the Blackcell Battle Pass comprises many more perks, including skins, blueprints, and other fun things one generally pays for. To those players who either cannot really fork out more monies or just refuse to, this giveaway is, for them, Christmas in June. Or whenever Season 4 really started in Call of Duty-land-the timeline is pretty weird there.

An interesting little observation as to the replies is the platform split. It does seem like PlayStation has the loudest fanbase, closely followed by Xbox and PC. Some users went one step further, as Dragonfantyler gave the account the tag twice to ensure any notice to them. Desperate times call for desperate measures, I guess.

The tweet itself was pretty straightforward-just a question about platforms followed by a link to… something. The giveaway details are yet to be clarified, and that alone has craziness building. Is this a random drawing? One first come, first served? Are they just handing one out for anyone who replies? The mystery is killing me almost as hard as sniping one with a Hillman in Rust from across the map.

Now, that pretty much brings forth how much these premium Battle Passes mean to the players. Depending on the player, it might be about flexing. For others, it’s what keeps the game fresh while it feels repetitive during the grind. Let’s be honest; who doesn’t like free stuff?

Again, no word on how many passes will be put up for grabs or when winners will be decided. What is, though, on every COD player’s mind? Notifications, that surely; well, either that or their next chance at getting rekt in some multiplayer match.

A reaction like this to the giveaways could go to show two things: that Call of Duty players are some of the most passionate lot around, and that they would cancel all their plans to entertain any Scrap. Whether PlayStation, Xbox, or PC, one thing all of us can agree on is that Blackcell loot should be ours.
