Death Stranding 2 is fast evolving into the most detailed game ever developed with every minute cerebral detail supplying the players with the setting of their own world. From getting sunburnt to terrains mutating dynamically, Kojima Productions is exploiting all potentialities in delivering the sequel onto a plane never thought of.
A tweet from NikTekOfficial shall show us one of those details: Sam can get a sunburn if he stays out too much in a warm area. But that is the tip of the iceberg. Players in their comments provide some much crazier mechanics on how water levels affect the sanding (washing will be to the level of Sam—up to his shoulders if so). Some joked that all that famous Red Dead Redemption 2’s testicle physics “can sit down” beside those.
Surely, not everyone is thrilled at that. Some questions it and calls it a “walking simulator” (Yet again!). Wherein others say the majority of these details were already in the first game, it just no one noticed them because they hated the game. User boahahah bent over backward for the hypocrisy: “Now it’s cool to like Death Stranding lmao.”
Meanwhile, there was the debate amongst fresh entrants: should they pick up the first game before bragging about the sequel? A very short answer: Probably. Because that story matters a lot in Death Stranding and skipping on a previous game may leave you lost into the weird, yet wonderfully, world Kojima had put together.
However, the other debate is whether this is a “game” at all or just an “interactive movie.” Some holders claim that the experience is all about the journey rather than mere action, while the others just want to know if Mercury poisoning if mugging monsters or delivering packages is what they really will do.
One thing is clear: Death Stranding 2 is stirring up conversation, and we haven’t begun to touch on what else the game has in store. Love it or hate it, one thing is for sure: That insane effort that was put down by Kojima’s team to make this world so real is undeniable.
Will it meet the expectations? Only time can tell. However, judging from the cult following that the first game gathered, Death Stranding 2 will either be perpetrators that most all players will obsess about or universal disdain among all players. There will be absolutely no in-between.
And honestly? That’s what makes it germane.
