When FromSoftware announced the other polemilestone of the Night Reign event for ELDEN RING, it was revealed that over 3.5 million players had entered the fray to fight against the darkness. So many Tarnished are out there swinging swords and spells, and perhaps dying a few more times. An eloquent tweet worthy of the occasion was posted by the official ELDEN RING Twitter: “On the dawn of the fifth day, Nightfarers 3.5 millions took up arms against the Night in #ELDENRING #NIGHTREIGN. We are ever grateful for your passion.”

One can say the statistics speak for themselves, but well, look at those entries! While some choose this opportunity to celebrate victories, the wishes could as well be classified as pantries demanding: various requests to fix this and that, give us more content, and improve matchmaking. Ah, there were some pretty crazy… requests.

Those are even worse. “I’ve been trying to play for 5 days and I can’t, please fix the game,” said BigBox Brasil, just putting it all out, and then Player KoRn2Field gave the details: “First thing, fix the freezes, fps drop and stuttering.” Ross Moffat wants his refund due to his perception that the multiplayer is “unplayable.” Ouch.”

Now, onto the content: some players demand it. To the point, Crys Groks says, “We need more maps and new bosses pls.” Kraken Guard details: “Bosses some of Mohg, Malenia, or Radahn.” Chokaway wants just “green Radahn” in the game. No explanations, just vibes.

Night Reign, or the lack thereof, made many for angry. wrestlin_wasabi deemed the design “stupid ass” for no duos being available at the time of launch. Cha0ticInsanity agreed that it was “weird that Duos was an afterthought.” Zero Catalyst proceeded with their gem synergy theorycrafting better than some actual game designers.

Then there was…the dilettante. AdrianRG1013 went screaming at someone: “shut the hell up,” ProphetChaos714 threw a “Got you with me 👊” from nowhere, and DarkDragoon76 bizarrely started comparing Night Reign to Persona spin-offs. A mess. A beautiful hilarious mess.

Still, endearing the whole lot, people live the game ELDEN RING. britni calls it “great game and perfect vehicle to add content,” while inthehereafter said that they “might as well run Night Reign as a live service.” Would FromSoftware really go there? Who knows. But with 3.5 million players having descended on the fight against the Night, the hype is no longer dying.

The next step? Another update, hopefully a couple of fixes and perhaps some new bosses. Or green Radahn. At this point, anything is fair game.
