Happy Father’s Day to all the boys who really come through—and especially if you are Sergeant Johnson from Halo. The official Halo Twitter wanted to give off the vibe with that recent post, but the gamers were not having any of that. The comments became a complete wishlist for the franchise, with Halo Wars 3 being the most common item on the list, right alongside the latest time it was put up for request.
The tweet was straightforward, really—salute emoji, shoutout to dads. Things took a hard left in the replies as players took the comment section by storm with demand lists, memes, and deep lore debates. Did you know Forge has a kid? Well, apparently that is a plotline now, and everyone’s arguing on whether he deserves a happy ending. (Spoiler: The responses say NO.)
The one thing tying this together was the sheer endlessness of the begging for Halo Wars 3. The comments section included several just saying, “Halo Wars 3,” as if suggesting, “Hey, 343 Industries, aren’t you aware you forgot to make that?” Another just tagged the Halo account with a blunt “Halo Wars 3 please,” as if he was placing an order. And honestly? Same.
Enter the wildcards. Someone asked, “What is a man?”—a fair question, but maybe not quite the right thread for an existential one. Then, somebody else demanded crossovers with DOOM, Dead by Daylight, and Transformers because why not make Halo one big crossover universe? Oh, and please don’t stray too far from Nathan Drake comparisons because apparently Master Chief’s voice is just that recognizable.
Of course, no Halo discussion is ever complete without a bit of salt. One reply said, “MAKE HALO GREAT AGAIN,” which…yeah, that is literally an entire vibe. Another pointed out “goofy ahh” getting censored in Halo Infinite’s chat, which is equally hilarious and terribly concerning. (Who is even trying to type ‘daddy’ in game chat anyway? The replies did NOT hold back on that.)
Onwards to the AI-generated Halo 7 fanfic. Yep. Someone dropped a link claiming that it is the “most probable” version of Halo 7, having fed all the Halo lore to an AI. Whether it is genius or terrifying remains an open debate at this point. But hey—at least they’re passionate.
So, what’s the takeaway? Halo fans are very loud; they are really very much opinionated; and they REALLY, REALLY want Halo Wars 3. Whether 343 is listening remains to be seen, but the internet could very well go mad when it happens. Until then, happy Father’s Day to the gaming dads out there, especially to those who are still waiting for their favorite franchise to come through on their behalf.
