For Indiana Jones purists, this will be some amazing news; the first DLC for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is out on September 4! “The Order of Giants” shall land on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC to deliver giant-sized fun to the masses.
The announcement came with a little-bit-stirring tweet from Bethesda along with a slick image: “They worshipped the giants…” portraying Indy facing off against giant stone figures. The possibilities for the journey became the most talked-about topic within the gaming community in an instant. Ancient civilizations? Mythical creatures? Or just a bunch of glads too tall for Indy to punch? We would fully understand by then.”
The… reaction… was…”mixed.” ConnerMonroe described it as an “easy DLC purchase” while AlexArnold88 thanked Bethesda for “giving us more to look forward to in Indy.” Others were not happy with it though. Criticalgamer0 basically said that they had no interest whatsoever, being bored with the base game by then, taking the chance to whimsically make comparisons to the prior Wolfenstein games from Bethesda. That’s harsh!
Then came… let us call them rambunctious… reactions that were completely going off on tangent for another. HarveySand13525 thunderously stated that he wanted Fallout remasters instead: “I’ve done played Oblivion Remastered 3 times now y’all needa drop sum!” On the other hand, MachtCloud1 took that precious moment to ask the really hard-hitting question: “What about Starfield. Is it dead now?” Typical AAAA-Class Bethesda fan behavior in that destructive announcement mode: say something, and then immediately inundate them with questions about the rest of your catalog.
The… most… interesting… ones came from Anders79079326, who proceeded to ramble off on bizarre tangents about everything from TES6 development timelines to “Godzilla sizing” quests to… something about supermodel skin treatments? Half of it genuinely read like somebody had dropped a Bethesda design document through Google Translate five times while high on skooma. That said, passion is passion!
That aside, some good complaints about the base game did come up. For instance, one player, Davidjo18979493, called on the developers to patch shooting weapons disappearing during climbing sections; meanwhile, DereckMiller10 spoke of some gamebreaking bugs he couldn’t fix by normal troubleshooting. Here’s hoping Beth fixes those before the DLC drops.
For those that liked the main game (like chilphil_ who stated outright that he “100% the main game”), this DLC promises more of what made Indiana Jones and the Great Circle a hit: globe-trotting adventure, ancient mysteries, and classic Indy charm. The teaser seems to suggest a giant-worshipping cult, which honestly sounds like the sort of nutty business Dr. Jones would find himself involved in.
The time is almost at hand: September 4th shall see the whip-sharpening of all Indy lovers against some rather large enemies. Meanwhile, Bethesda, are you going to keep sucking people into your endless buzz? And by the way, could somebody explain to me what “Project Redwine” is supposed to mean…?
