Capcom dropped a fresh event quest, and players are all going frenzy over the feline-themed cosmetic items for it. Spanning through the weekend, “Three Tails Better Than None” lets hunters hunt and craft Faux Felyne α headgear, which has two cosmetic options. Because, really, who doesn’t want to look like a cat while actually hunting megamonsters?
The official Monster Hunter Twitter account teased the gear with a pun: “Does this look like the face of meowcy? 😼” Eh, it kind of does. The headgear gives some strong Palico vibes, which would be perfect for those who want to embrace their inner cat-person in their hunting escapades.
That said, not everyone is purr-fectly pleased with the update. Reactions came rushing back already, with some getting hyped about the drop, while others shared their thoughts.
Performance complaints were the biggest common gripe around the thread, with some community members urging Capcom to fix the PC optimization: “Would love to, fix PC performance first please,” was one blunt response. Another cited the game’s Steam ratings: “Something ain’t working Capcom. Pay attention.” Ouch.
Then some felt more experienced and wanted an extra challenge: “I stopped playing MH Wilds… needs elder dragons,” said one hunter. “Where’s TU2? Soon the game will be 3 months old and no new monsters,” lamented another.
The Downside As The Blindrab, Not All Are Haters, As Some Are Just Glad For An Update: “Loving this game so far, can’t wait to see what the future holds,” the optimistic fan proceeded. Others were already making plans on how to fashion-hunt and joke on Beerus (from Dragon Ball) cosplays courtesy of the new layered armor.
Then there were the real questions: like, does that cat gear mean Palicos finally get playable? (Spoiler Alert: Probably not. But a hunter can dream.)
Some weekend hunters should know for sure: Hunt some three-tailed monstrosity that the event is bringing forth, cash in for some crafting mats, and get those mats limbered up for your kitty gear. Unless you want to go and join everyone else in giving Capcom a death stare about that performance fix anytime really soon.
