Entered the arena gamers: Time to strap yourself in, as the Street Fighter crew returns in Fortnite with all the fanfare. Epic Games teased the grimness of the gang’s return to the Item Shop on June 20, 2025. And judging by how players reacted, customers on social media are losing it. Some are hyped, and others are raging over the price while worrying their wallets might not bear the cost.
Here’s the first: Fortnite’s official Twitter account teased the comeback with a clean “Ready? Fight!” alongside an image showing what does look like the Street Fighter crew really well. No mention of which sets will be returning, but surely with Ryu, Chun-Li, and Guile all set to come back, there is bound to be a surprise or two thrown in there; how about M. Bison? The Reply sections? Chaos. Players are pledging to buy skins twice (shout out to @jeroentia for that kind of dedication), while others are screaming into the void because they’re broke (we feel you, @iitznicolee).
Here’s the spicy part. Street Fighter isn’t a new collab: first came to Fortnite in 2020, and apparently, it is the rare, elusive pack that doesn’t show up often. So, for those who missed out the first go (raises hand), this is a VERY BIG occasion. An account by the name @coshuloser said that it had been waiting for FIVE YEARS for this moment. That is some commitment.
Well, some people have some tragic news for all of us. Someone (@Hampster528198) has already accused Fortnite of “lying” according to the said release date, and another person (@randomowsky) has gone around trying to argue that it is already June 20 in some part of the world. Time zones, man; they’ll getcha.
And then there is the Travis Scott crowd (@JackSchinny), continuously wishing to get him back. Sorry, folks, this date is all about Hadouken and Spinning Bird Kicks.

The verdict, nonetheless: If you’ve been hoarding V-Bucks for some strange reason (shout out to @WayOfThePharaoh for the strength!), then tomorrow is your chance to buy the skin of your dreams: Chun-Li. If you’re broke, maybe try selling a kidney? (Don’t).
In any case, the hype train for Street Fighter is leaving the station TOMORROW. Suit up: some serious action is descending upon Fortnite.
