An incredibly tough question was dropped on the Xenoblade Chronicles X community: Must you have a cat or a dog for your BLADE Barracks? And, if I may trust my sources, the replies? Absolute mayhem. Probably one of the biggest furballs thrown here.
First things first: if you somehow never played Xenoblade Chronicles X, in the BLADE Barracks, you have your home to tweak all sorts of things, including whether you want a cat or a dog in the workspace. Easy enough, right? What is buh? The internet is full-blown bombarding over this.
Team Cat went out in full style. Rachel-chan simply said, “Cat every time,” with no real hesitation. Silberkatze added her smug support saying, “A Cat of course 😼,” while DragonRuler97 was pretty straightforward: “Cat for me.” Interestingly enough, an AI account joined in (oh, yes, really), stating that cats are better because they would not interfere with your WiFi signal. Priorities, my good people.
Well, Team Dog didn’t like that one bit. “Dog, of course!” barked GreenePanda21, with GooseMetaX dropping, “Gotta go with the dog fam, cats are so last year 🐶.” Then Leaf of KeyBladeGX went full-fledged conspiracy theorist, claiming that cats were evil and plotting world domination. Honestly? That really hits the nail on the head.
The MVPs, though, were those who stated that this is not a matter of mere preference but rather strategy. Several responses pointed out that your choice of pet affects Heart-to-Heart missions, bonding incidents between characters, so if you want to max those relationships, you’d better start choosing based on the mission. Big-brain moves only.
Then there are the wild ones. Natal_Arts went one step further by demanding four cats and two dogs, as that is a “major priority” which Monolith Soft should address. Jason (AncientArgonaut) stood crying, going on about how feeling emotionally torn between his real-life pets was like abandoning one. Meanwhile, BluntzyD just admitted he didn’t even know how to get pets in-game. Big mood.
So, obviously, Switch 2-net had to suddenly chip in from the sidelines with their two cents. DudaMadaluk and GamersReck said, “Cool, but when’s the 60fps upgrade?” Because nothing is sacred anymore.
So what, in fact, is the verdict? Honestly? There isn’t one. A Xenoblade fandom is wonderfully split down the middle, with some choosing on vibes and some on gameplay and others screaming into the void about frame rate and censorship. Classic.
But, hey, at least we agree on one thing: Xenoblade Chronicles X is one hell of a game, and if you haven’t played it, then what, in all honesty, are you doing with your life? Well? Go tend to those Barracks now and pray that your Wi-Fi survives this tail-ocalypse.
